Breathing and Laughing: Authentic Odysseys of Life & Transformation – Blog Index

Here’s where the magic happens…

Well, it actually happens all over the place – not actually on the screen. But, here’s where you can choose which adventure, experience, or topic you would like to read about, and then it really takes off!

My blog, as shown on the home page, is broken up into subsections covering various topics. Hopefully, this will make it easier for you, my favorite reader, to find things you would like to read (hopefully you like my writing, and you’ll read a lot of different posts)! So, once you read my little intro about how I’m “rating” my posts, please enjoy the writings!

I’d love it if you would share stories you enjoy, or those that have helped you, with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, or Insta, give me a Like and a Follow while you’re there! Hang with me while I grow, I promise some hilarious stories, a good bit of satire, and plenty of great times.

A Quick Note

While many of these posts are kid-friendly, some are not. Additionally, many of the topics may upset some people.

At the beginning of each post, I will make a note using a rating scale, of course this scale is just my opinion, so use your best judgement. Having raised my own child to adulthood and worked with numerous children, teens, and adults over the years, I’m going with my best “gut feeling” here.

  • G- Safe for all ages, anyone could read these, no triggers (that I can think of), usually will be humorous, cute, or educational.
  • PG- I think many of the topics are great to discuss with older children, but they should have an adult around to discuss and answer any questions they may have. Could have triggers (see note below), could have health issues (including chronic or terminal conditions), scary situations (ghosts, spirits, or “monsters”), mild violence, talk about loss, death, or dying as that is a part of life.
  • PG-13- Also could be read and discussed with older children. Mature language, Topics very likely include triggers such as body image issues, loss, death, dying, abuse, sex (not explicit),
  • “TW: xyz-topic” (Trigger Warning), on posts that have common triggers for people who prefer not to, or cannot, read or watch such content.
  • There will be no sexually explicit content/mature audience only content on this site.

Lifestyle of the Not Rich or Famous

Life in an RV… with two humans, three dogs, and six cats. Off grid – meaning haul water, chop wood, and all that fun stuff. It’s great! Really! Trust me!

It’s far from easy, but I love it. We can pretty much live anywhere we want, our whole house moves with us (read no more packing and unpacking)! But, we have chores that most people don’t. We don’t have modern conveniences that many of us take for granted.

A bear can shake our house. So can a moderate amount of wind… but the bear is a little more intimidating.

02

Let’s Get Personal

My life in short stories. Relationships, family, pets, health, jobs, and more. And, more than likely completely out of order – ADHD, OCD, and being in my 40’s with neuro-atypical issues haven’t done me any favors when it comes to staying on task. It’s interesting for sure!

There will be a lot here that I haven’t shared with many people before. But, that’s one of the changes I’m making as I get older. My experiences, growth, and education, including correct and incorrect choices, could be helpful to someone. That pretty much applies to all of the topics, but this one goes down to those places in your heart and soul that you usually save for closer friends and family. So, please bear with me as I “get used” to talking to “strangers” and interact with me so that we can become comfortable with each other!

Medical, Mental Health, and Self-Care

Medical and mental health is another super important topic, and very close to my heart.

In all seriousness, it’s hard to find help these days. On top of being hard to find, you then may have to go on a waiting list that’s half a year long, or argue with your insurance company (which really shouldn’t be something you have to do when you are struggling and need help).

We all know self-care is important. But how many of us practice it? I’m a certified holistic health coach. So, here will be some tips, tricks, and topics to discuss regarding the things we should be doing (but probably aren’t, including me – not gonna lie).

I am not offering any diagnostic or health advice here. I am not a licensed physician. This is to discuss issues I have personally had or have, how I deal with them, and to discuss the nationwide, problematic issues of medical and mental health care.

04

Paranormal, Oddities, and Conspiracies

I’ve always been interested in these topics. Bigfoot, UFO’s (or UAP’s), conspiracy theories, religion (yep, I toss religion in here, because I honestly don’t believe any singular religion is absolutely 100% accurate), magic(k), myths and legends, apocalyptic ideas and theories, and more.

Fun stuff to talk about and debate, maybe plan for… ’cause, hey, why not, maybe a zombie apocalypse will happen!

Life Transitions

Change is never easy, even as an adaptable person. Here is where I’ll talk about major life changes. I’ll discuss how they affected me, how I worked through them (the good, the bad, and the ugly), what I’ve learned since then and how I might do things differently now.

Major life changes for me include topics such as major losses and gains (jobs, home, income, etc.), deaths, births, adoptions, or loss of family (to include pets) and close friends or mentors, and sudden unexpected significant changes.

Pets and Other Animals We Share Our Lives With (Including Wildlife)

Animals are a huge part of my life. Always have been, always will be. My partner knows this, accepted my crazy lifestyle and all of the fur, feathers, scales, and however many legs, or lack thereof, it may come with. And he loves them all (even though he won’t admit it all the time… he might not be happy if I decided to raise venomous snakes…or any snakes for that matter).

I have an extensive background in animal husbandry and training. From domestic animals, to horses, to exotics, I worked the gambit, and have a lot to talk about here!
